Giant Canadian brook trout

Well everyone comes to Western BC for steelhead but I found there are wonderful brook trout in the lakes as well! They were stocked at one time but they now thrive!!  After catching 7 and 8 inch fish in Michigan this summer this big fish was a shock! Estimated at 22 inches and 5 pounds it struck an egg sucking leech!!!

 I had the pleasure to fish again this year with Pierce Clegg on the Babine River , Bc Pierce is a great harmonica player and the former owner of Nor Lakes lodge , We launched his jet boat by the fish fence and he landed this steelhead on the 3rd cast, Steelhead is about covering water he says!!
